Mechanical Design Engineer

We currently have a position available for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be based in the Adelaide. This role will allow you to work with groundbreaking technology to the Defence & Aerospace. The successful applicant will be a dynamic mechanical design engineer with 3-5 years' experience that is looking to that the next step in their career.

In this role you will have the opportunity to design and manufacture defence systems to meet mission requirements that will directly influence capability across Defence.

The Role:

• Conduct and support specialised tools and test equipment design.
• Conduct and support the testing and evaluation of designs.
• Assess conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
• Contribute to the development and management of a technical support network.
• Define and manage the work of assigned internal and external resources.
• Provide requirements management for technical projects.
• Provide technical input for tenders.
• Provide professional engineering advice and authorisation within assigned technical delegations.
• Define and support engineering reviews.
• Provide support and advice to other areas of the business.
• Develop and review documentation such as specifications, test procedures, maintenance instructions, drawings, defective material and engineering reports.

Experience required

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering.
• Eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
• Well-developed interpersonal, communication and team work skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Experience working within a Defence project environment is desirable.
• Experience with systems engineering development lifecycle is desirable.
• Australian Citizenship essential; current or reinstatable clearance required
