Technical Support Engineer - NV1 Cleared | Brisbane

Cleared Recruitment is excited to be partnering with a leading organisation dedicated to improving community wellbeing, safety, and forensic service delivery.

We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to provide high-level technical support, maintenance, and system upgrades for forensic software solutions used by law enforcement and forensic laboratories.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions.
About the Role

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will join a skilled and diverse team of developers, engineers, business analysts, and forensic specialists. You will collaborate with leading software providers and work in a high-security environment, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of critical forensic applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support, system maintenance, and upgrades for forensic software solutions.
  • Identify and troubleshoot cloud and infrastructure issues, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Manage and optimise SQL databases, implementing advanced querying and performance strategies.
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met through effective issue resolution and task prioritisation.
  • Work within a Continuous Integration (CI) environment, ensuring seamless development and deployment.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, technical solutions, and system configurations using service management tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Participate in an on-call support roster, ensuring timely resolution of incidents.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships through excellent communication and service delivery.
  • Represent the organisation on customer sites when required.
  • Work closely with developers, UX designers, analysts, and forensic specialists to drive product improvements.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • At least 3 years of experience in SQL, with expertise in advanced querying, database management, and optimisation.
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Azure, with the ability to diagnose and resolve cloud-based issues.
  • Technical proficiency across a range of platforms and technologies, with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Experience in troubleshooting cloud application and database issues.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on efficiency and innovation.
  • The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong incident management skills, with a structured approach to issue resolution.
  • Background in software engineering or the ability to understand and work with code is highly regarded.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • Experience working with public sector organisations, particularly public safety agencies, is highly desirable.

Security Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, candidates must:

  • Hold an active NV1 security clearance.
  • Be an Australian citizen (mandatory).
  • Be based in Brisbane.
