Cleared Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a Federal Government Department within the Intelligence Community to engage a NV2 Junior Systems Administrator. This contractor opportunity is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in secure environments, supporting a range of on-premises and Cloud-based infrastructure.


You will work closely with senior administrators and other IT teams to ensure the smooth operation and ongoing security of systems critical to national operations.
As this role is within a secure environment, you must hold an active NV2 security clearance.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for a technically capable, motivated junior administrator to gain hands-on experience supporting essential government IT systems, both physical and virtual.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  System Administration Support - Assist in maintaining and managing physical and virtual servers.
• 
  Monitoring & Troubleshooting - Track system performance and escalate hardware/software/network issues.
• 
  Security & Patch Management - Apply security patches and manage access controls in line with government protocols.
• 
  Backup & Recovery - Support data backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• 
  Documentation - Maintain up-to-date system configurations, troubleshooting records, and change logs.
• 
  Automation & Scripting - Support scripting tasks (PowerShell, Bash) to improve operational efficiency.
• 
  Collaboration - Work closely with senior admins and cross-functional teams to support smooth system operations.
• 
  Teamwork - Build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• 
  Experience supporting Windows desktop environments.
• 
  Exposure to Cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
• 
  An understanding of automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
• 
  Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes.
• 
  Experience in government or highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
• 
  Demonstrated ability to work to SFIA Level 4 or above.
