Senior/Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer | NV1 Clearance Required

Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a federal government agency within the intelligence community who are delivering critical infrastructure solutions across corporate and operational technology environments.

We are seeking a skilled NV1 Senior/Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and manage complex systems, ensuring seamless integration, reliability, and performance across mission-critical networks.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining IT infrastructure solutions, providing high-level support, and optimising performance across network, compute, storage, and virtualisation systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system efficiency, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to automation initiatives in data centre environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT solutions, including VMware, Dell, Aruba, and Palo Alto technologies.
• Provide Level 3 technical support across networking, virtualisation, compute, and storage systems.
• Lead Data Centre ICT commissioning and automation projects using DevOps methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and organisational guidelines.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and stakeholder relationships.
• Manage incident resolution, liaise with vendors, and drive strategic improvements in IT infrastructure.

About You

You have a strong background in designing and managing virtualised environments, with hands-on experience in Windows and Linux systems. Your expertise includes enterprise networking, security infrastructure, and cloud-based technologies.

Key Skills & Experience

• Experience managing enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Strong background in Microsoft Azure, M365, and virtualised environments.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python) and infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Ansible.
• Ability to manage projects, troubleshoot critical issues, and enhance system resilience.

Security & Compliance Requirements

• NV1 Clearance is essential
• Must complete the departments Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement.
• Required to sign a Deed of Confidentiality or Non-Disclosure Agreement as per government agency guidelines.
• Compliance with Section 48 of the Australian Crime Commission Act (2002) may be required.
