End User Technician
Cleared Recruitment is working with Defence, & we are seeking a skilled NV2 End User Technician to join a major Defence project based in Canberra.
This position is vital in ensuring the Royal Australian Navy remains at the forefront of operational capabilities!
About the Role: As an End User Technician, you will be central to the successful integration and support of the Navy's ICT systems. Your role will focus on managing and enhancing the Windows Standardised Operating Environments (SOEs) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to ensure these systems meet the Navy's demanding operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the integration of complex ICT systems onto Navy platforms.
- Develop, build, and implement Microsoft Windows SOEs and VDI in line with functional and performance specifications.
- Analyse, log, track, and resolve issues related to Windows SOEs and VDI.
- Package, test, and deploy applications to the deployed environment.
- Proactively maintain, patch, and upgrade the deployed ICT infrastructure.
- Assist with defect remediation and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
- Report to the EUC & Apps Integration Lead on activity status, risks, and task completion.
- Collaborate with project peers and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Defence as an End User Technician.
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows SOE development and deployment, VDI systems, application packaging, and endpoint management.
- Strong knowledge of cyber security patching and vulnerability management.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices and ISO Quality Standards.
- Knowledge of applying cyber-security controls and practices.
- Experience with ADF deployed environments and unique networking and support constraints.
- Understanding Minerva systems.
Team Lead Expected Work Arrangement:
- Monday to Friday, 40-hour standard working week with occasional overtime by agreement.
- Preferred Canberra or Sydney base.
- DSN access required.
Security Clearance:
- Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance required before commencement.
- Compliance with US International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) for handling export-controlled ICT products.
