About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Manager, focusing on the commercial aspects of Australian Government business. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing non-standard deals, commercial projects, and Capture plans, ensuring they are constructed with a balanced approach to risk and return. You will collaborate with the wider team and other functions to ensure effective governance and support for all commercial activities. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our strategic government business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Commercial Activities: Oversee all commercial management related to assigned areas, including non-standard deals, gather planning, and governance for commercial projects.
- Proposal and Offer Development: Lead the creation of high-quality proposals, ensuring they are commercially viable, deliverable, and include appropriate terms and conditions.
- Sales Support: Contribute to initiatives that enable Sales to operate independently and efficiently, supporting the achievement of business goals.
- Gate Reviews & Authorization: Conduct reviews of deals, bids, gather plans, and commercial projects to secure cross-functional support, senior sponsorship, and necessary investments for resource or capability gaps.
- Product & Service Development: Contribute to the development of new product and service cases.
- Commercial Governance: Ensure compliance with commercial governance throughout the deal and case development process.
- Contractual Negotiations: Lead or support contractual negotiations, ensuring efficient and mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Financial Analysis: Ensure all deals and cases are backed by robust and detailed financial analyses.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to efforts that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team's activities.
- Other Tasks: Perform other reasonable tasks and responsibilities as required by the role.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing capture programs.
- Experience in handling and developing contractual frameworks, particularly within the Government market.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong collaborative abilities with effective communication skills to work across multiple teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to thoroughly test and ensure all requirements are met to secure successful outcomes.
- Strong negotiation skills, ensuring efficient and beneficial contract negotiations.
