C4i Simulation Technician

In this role you will be responsible for the development and integration of simulation software and integrated simulation training federate used to directly support and enhance military capabilities.

The successful candidate will have the ability to modify and develop simulation software which will be used to deliver cutting edge training outcomes to the ADF.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to simulation delivery
• Integration of simulation and C2 applications into simulation core
• Work collaboratively with the team to develop, test and integrate new software releases
• Assist in the configuration, management and sustainment of simulation systems
• Modify existing (COTS and GOTS) software packages
• Deploy to support the execution of simulation supported training events as part of the Technical Control (TECHON) or Simulation Control (SIMCON) elements

Skills & experience required

• Firm understanding of the application & conduct of Defence training, training systems, exercise development, military communications and C2 systems
• Knowledge of ADF Joint Warfare Doctrine is advantageous
• Exposure to Defence simulation systems (constructive sims such as JCATS, JSAF, ACE-IOS, etc.)
• Experience with the technical planning and deployment of simulation architectures in a virtualised environment,
• RedHat Linux (RH124 RHCSA minimum),
• Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMWare, etc.)
• Experience with common simulation standards (DIS, HLA, TENA)

Applicants MUST hold Australian Citizenship and a current or reinstatable NV1 clearance.
