Systems Administrator - NV1 Cleared | Army Headquarters | Canberra

Cleared Recruitment is proud to be partnering with defence and looking to speak with a NV1 Systems Administrator to support a major defence program at Army Headquarters.
This long-term engagement will see you managing and maintaining critical Defence ICT systems, ensuring operational effectiveness for the projects Environment.

Location: Symonston, ACT
Start Date: 1 July 2025
Contract Length: 12 months + potential extensions (up to 3 years)
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
Security Clearance: NV1 minimum
Citizenship: Australian citizens only

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day management of virtual and physical infrastructure.

Maintain configuration management records for hardware and software assets.

Perform availability management, capacity planning, and system monitoring.

Ensure ongoing security accreditation through vulnerability management and system patching.

Maintain and administer change management processes.

Install, configure and administer military-specific software and applications (Windows and Linux environments).

Develop technical, security and training documentation for end users.

Support and train user organisations on system usage.

Provide technical advice to ADF, APS and contractor staff.

Contribute to system design upgrades, extensions, and future-readiness innovation initiatives.

Required Experience:

Strong expertise in VMware ESXi 6.5+ and vCenter 6.5+ environments.

Windows Server 2016 administration.

Active Directory and Group Policy management.

Endpoint security technologies.

Windows SOE management.

Enterprise backup solutions.

Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions.

Network and infrastructure monitoring solutions.

Vulnerability management and scanning tools.

Highly Desirable:

More than 10 years' experience managing secure ICT systems within the Defence domain.

Experience with Defence-specific networks such as AUS MPE, EDLAN, or deployed network integration.

Tactical and operational level network integration experience within ADF environments.

Working Arrangements:

Onsite role based in Canberra (WFH not available).

NV1 security clearance required from commencement.

3-month probation applies for new contractors.

Must work directly without requiring ongoing parent company support.
