About the Opportunity

Cleared is supporting a global software company who are seeking a skilled Senior Network Engineer to join there key Defence account, Centralised Processing (CP), based in Melbourne or Canberra. This exciting opportunity will involve performing Network Engineering functions, including conceptualisation, design, implementation, and optimisation, within a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) capacity. You will work closely with teams in Wintel, Virtualization, Unix, Storage, and Data Protection, contributing to the success of complex technology projects.

Key Responsibilities

Perform network engineering functions, including designing, implementing, and optimising network systems.
Configure and manage network infrastructure such as switches, firewalls, and other key networking technologies.
Troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues and collaborate with other teams to resolve related challenges.
Work with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
Manage and configure networking technologies, including Citrix load balancers, Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ASA, and Palo Alto firewalls.
Provide support and mentoring to junior team members.
Conduct root cause analysis for issues, often working with vendors and other teams to find preventative and reactive solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience in a Network Communications Engineer role or similar.
Expertise in configuring and maintaining networking infrastructure.
Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in complex network issues.
Hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
Advanced knowledge of networking technologies, including Citrix load balancers, Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ASA, and Palo Alto firewalls.
Ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate effectively across teams.
NV1 clearance is required, with the ability to obtain NV2.
