Program Risk Manager
Cleared Recruitment are seeking a Program Risk Manager to work across a number of high priority projects within a large Federal Government department

The Program Risk Manager Manages the day to day matters relating to risk management within the indigo program. The role is responsible for undertaking complex and/or sensitive work, under broad direction, utilising experience across a range of activities relating to the implementation of the AEC risk management policy and indigo risk management plans. The program risk manager will have excellent relationship management skills, forming and maintaining positive working relationships across the Enterprise transformation Group and the agency. This role will also involve facilitating strategic activities for the Program, requiring engagement with a range of internal stakeholders.
Requirement Responsibilities
Role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Support and contribute to the analysis and evaluation of strategic and project risks against stated objectives and outcomes.
* Identify, interpret, and analyse complex data using statistical techniques to produce reports, visualisations, recommendations and evaluation of risks to inform decision making and future strategic direction.
* Provide high quality and timely advice and reporting to Branch leadership and the Senior Executive cohort including, Executive Leadership Team in relation to risk responsibilities.
* Act as subject matter expert to influence and resolve issues and recommend innovative strategic solutions to ensure ongoing management of program risks.
* Conduct frequent risk reviews and risk health checks to ensure project governance requirements are adhered to.
* Develop innovative and cost-effective assessment and reporting tools to measure and monitor control and treatment effectiveness.
* Identify and report on issues, trends and risks using best practice methodologies and industry recognised standards and processes.
* Establish, facilitate, and maintain strong internal and external relationships to address, negotiate and deliver continuously improved quality outcomes.
* Contribute to the development of plans and related documents and prepare reports, templates, and documentation in support of Gateway Reviews and other auditing activities.
* Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations.
* Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
* Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.
* Facilitate risk assessments and workshops.
About the Team/Project The Indigo Program Management Office Branch (IPMO) sits within the Enterprise Transformation Group (ETG) in the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC). ETG is responsible for planning, designing and delivering the Election Systems Modernisation Program (the Indigo Program) and the agency's transformation agenda.
The Indigo Program is a once in a generation modernisation program to improve election and roll management services. This role will contribute to a broad program that will position the agency to implement a significant uplift in their service delivery.
The IPMO draws on a diverse range of skillsets to support the modernisation agenda and enable the AEC to transition to more contemporary platforms.
Mandatory Criteria
* Understanding of risk management methodologies in a complex program management environment.
* Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively at all levels.
* Proven ability to act with discretion and integrity in managing sensitive and confidential information.
* Well-developed organisational skills with an ability proactively approach responsibilities.
* Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and delivering quality results within allocated and self-imposed deadlines.
* Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst responding to stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network.
* Excellent attention to detail with an ability to undertake proof reading and document quality review.
* Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters.
* Understanding of, and ability to contribute to the preparation of Risk and Portfolio/Program management plans.
* Familiarity with Portfolio/Program governance structures and reporting.
* Knowledge and understanding of, and previous experience operating with in a Portfolio/Program environment.
* Proven ability to facilitate risk assessments and workshops with a range of stakeholders including the Executive cohort.
Desirable Criteria * Experience with SAFe Scaled Agile Framework.
* Knowledge of, or ability to, quickly gain knowledge of Australian electoral law and practice.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the Commonwealth frameworks, including Resource Management
