It's that time of year, Christmas is coming and holiday season is upon us, but that doesn't mean jobs should stop!

Providing mission critical communications and data cloud integration services, our client is looking to grow and expand its core team in Brisbane supporting the next generation of Air Traffic Management technology for Defence and Commercial sectors. As a key Program Manager in the team, you will provide critical leadership, customer management and project resource management due ensure requirements are met to engineering standards and processes, as well as utilising an "outside of the box" approach towards everyday challenges.

Role: Program Manager

Main tasks:

  • Project Initiation together with internal and external stakeholders
  • Definition and maintenance of the project organisation
  • (Co-)Decision on the selection of project staff
  • Main contact point for the customer for a delivery project
  • Integrated project planning and continuous project controlling with regard to resources, budget, milestones/deadlines, coordination with cooperation partners, subcontractors
  • Creation and Maintenance of a Project Schedule
  • Definition and Coordination of work-packages
  • Coordination of work in the project team - together with the Technical Solution Manager (TSM) who is responsible for all technical aspects of a project
  • Project Risk Management (commercial, contractual, technical)
  • Creation of Project Documentation
  • Management of all commercial project aspects
  • Development of claim management strategies
  • Financial Forecasting of the Project Status Reporting
  • Project Change Request Management (CCPs, etc.)
  • Configuration Management
  • Continuous organizational improvement (e.g. through regular lessons learned)
  • Management of system build and verification and validation processes, together with the TSM
  • Management of the project roll out, together with the TSM
  • Subcontractor Management

Responsibility:

  • Overall responsibility for successful project execution
  • Overall responsibility for project risk management
  • Planning and alignment of all costs, milestones and resources
  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction
  • Continuously evaluate and optimise project performance
  • Internal and external reporting, escalation in case of issues or deviations

Requirements:

  • Mission critical mindset
  • AusDefCon contract experience (Desirable)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in using project management and project scheduling tools
  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to solve issues that arise (including the personal follow-up of work-packages that the project team is unable to handle)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle (requirements management, test and integration, engineering change, verification and validation)
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts
  • Proactive in accepting project challenges
  • Ideally a technical background in mission critical infrastructure/applications
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain one
