Platform Administrator

Cleared Recruitment is currently seeking a Platform Administrator for a Major Defence Project for Navy, based in Sydney.

This is a contract role till June 2025 with two likely extensions to June 2028.

This role is essential for the effective management, maintenance, and deployment of platform infrastructure to support operational needs within Defence Intelligence. The Platform Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of critical systems, as well as providing support for deployment and troubleshooting efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Maintenance:
  Monitor and maintain operating systems, utilities, and middleware. Optimise system performance to ensure infrastructure stability and security.
• Platform Support:
  Prepare software implementation procedures with fallback and contingency plans. Install and test new system software versions and resolve any service issues to maintain system functionality.
• Deployment:
  Install, configure, and deploy software packages, reusable components, patches, utilities, and middleware to the platforms, ensuring they meet authorised specifications.

About You:
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing, supporting, and optimising platform infrastructures, particularly in a Defence or high-security environment.
Requirements:

• Proven experience in platform administration, infrastructure management, and system deployment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in maintaining operating systems, middleware, and utilities.
• Familiarity with Defence Intelligence platforms and operational requirements is highly desirable.
• Australian Citizenship and an active NV1 or higher security clearance are essential.
