IT Security Officer

Cleared Recruitment is excited to be partnering with a global leader in civil aviation, defence, and security. This organisation is seeking an NV1 IT Security Officer to join their team, supporting a major defence platform and overseeing all IT and cyber security requirements for the program. This role is based at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW.

As this will be on a defence base you must already hold a NV1 security Clearnce or above to apply!

About the Role

As an IT Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the IT systems and cyber security of a key defence platform are robust and aligned with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform IT systems administration tasks, including patching, ICT security, and user management.
• Analyse system and security event logs to identify and mitigate risks.
• Assist the IT Security Manager (ITSM) in maintaining and enhancing the organisation's security posture as per the strategic security plan.
• Conduct security incident reporting and analysis to support ongoing improvements.
• Perform security risk assessments in line with the Defence Risk Management Framework.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in IT systems and security administration.
• Extensive expertise in Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management.
• Solid understanding of computer hardware, network devices, and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with the Australian Information Security Manual (ISM), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).

Security Requirements:

Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for a SECRET (NV1) level security clearance, with a preference for candidates who currently hold this clearance.
