Geospatial and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Engineers operate at the convergence of cartography, programming, and data analysis. They analyze spatial data using mapping software, design digital maps incorporating geographic and diverse datasets, and identify spatial patterns and trends. These professionals develop mapping applications and tools, manage a digital library of geographic maps in various formats, and enhance safety protocols through location tracking and risk assessment based on weather patterns and incidents.

This role involves handling moderately complex to complex tasks under limited supervision, leveraging expertise in business analysis to deliver effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design, develop, implement, and maintain a cohesive GIS information architecture.

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and insights on spatial data and metadata standards.

  • Support day-to-day GIS operations, prioritize geospatial architecture needs, and troubleshoot incidents.

  • Advise on geospatial analysis techniques, GIS tools, and location data utilization within Data Warehouses and Cloud environments.

  • Coordinate software installations and upgrades with IT Operations and GIS Administrators.

  • Develop strategies to integrate GIS applications with Microsoft Azure environment.

  • Prepare documentation such as design specifications and user guides.

  • Administer relational databases for enterprise geodatabase hosting.

  • Communicate GIS insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through dashboards and interactive maps.

  • Maintain knowledge of mapping resources to facilitate efficient support for teams and stakeholders.

  • Report on application development activities effectively.

Mandatory Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in GIS software development, including Esri Enterprise and Cloud solutions.

  • Proficiency in delivering geospatial solutions through SDLC and Agile practices, with Azure Enterprise Cloud experience.

  • Experience in web development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, and/or ASP.NET.

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and associated technologies.

  • Strong SQL skills for data querying and interpretation.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, geography, or related field.

  • Familiarity with JavaScript, Agile methodology, Python, and GeoServer.

  • Experience with PowerBI or similar dashboard applications.
