Database Administrator

Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a key organisation within the Australian Intelligence Community on a mission-critical project.

This organisation is currently seeking a NV1 Database Administrator to join their Technical Support Team team on an immediate 12-month contract, with the potential for two additional 12-month extensions.

This role, primarily based in the Adelaide.

About the Role:
As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for developing automation tools, monitoring performance, and configuring various database systems to ensure optimal operation. This role requires a strong technical foundation in DBMS, including Microsoft SQL/Express, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL. You'll also handle routine installations and configurations, identify complex issues, and recommend corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and configure automation tools for database administration tasks.
• Monitor performance statistics, generating reports for system optimisation.
• Identify and resolve complex database issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
• Perform routine installation, configuration, and reconfiguration of databases and related products.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in DBMS, including Microsoft SQL/Express, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and database optimisation.
• Desirable experience with Microsoft BackOffice and/or Red Hat Linux.

Contract Details:

• Duration: 12 months with the possibility of 2 x 12-month extensions.
• Start Date: Immediate

Location: Adelaide metropolitan area, primarily at Defence Offices, including the Edinburgh Defence Precinct; some local travel may be required.
Security Clearance: Current NV1 required, with an option to upgrade to PV if not already held.
